Antique Kodak Cameras & A Platinum Antique Engagement Ring
eBay began with antiques & collectibles as their primary sales. So in wondering if there is still any such market on eBay, I went meandering down the highways and buyways of eBay, so discover treasures like antique Kodak cameras and a stunning platinum antique engagement ring. So I'm happy to announce that, yes, antique sales are still quite an exciting eBay line.

* It's important to focus on trends and brands that are well known and in high demand for their quality or beauty. While an antique Kodak camera might be valuable, an antique Sydney Johnston camera certainly isn't. 'Hot" trends and antiques certainly are not a good mix.
* Unless your have contacts in the business, it might take a considerable amount of time to find profitable items. In 20 hours of searching for the perfect antique, you might have posted 250 more common items. Perhaps the antique will bring in more money than the 250, but there's a strong possibility that it won't.
* eBay is superb for quick cash flow. Except for the antiques & collectibles market. If you need money for a crisis six days from now, most likely selling an antique won't bring cash racing in the door. While your antique butter churn might be exactly what one home is craving, it might take some time for the eager buyer to find you. Of course, you might list your treasure and it 10 minutes have an astoundingly profitable payment into your PayPal account ... but don't count on it.
* Obviously, high-priced items aren't free to acquire. In the Ancient Days (early days of eBay), when most folks didn't know about eBay, In those Ancient Days, it was relatively easy to make big scores because people didn't understand the value of what they had. But unless they just moved here from another planet, they've heard of eBay. Still, lots of folks have zero interest in selling on eBay and there are bargains to be had.
* The biggest disadvantage for most of us - especially me - is a lack of information. I wouldn't know a valuable antique table or antique wedding dress if I fell over them. However, if you're one of those folks that DOES know, display every ounce of that knowledge when listing on eBay. It will impress potential buyers and increase your sales price.
