Must I Be An Expert To Sell On eBay
A frequent question from would-be eBay sellers is: Must I be an expert to sell a product on eBay?
The answer is: it depends.
For example, I'm currently looking at guitars for sale on eBay and find 251163 entries. Certainly a healthy market so it might grab my interest. But there are two kinds of guitars for sale ... one is very specialized, fairly rare and quite expensive. The other kind is common and readily available.
Now if I'm going to sell expensive guitars (some of them are offered at $500,000) then I really need to know something about the subject. Looking around the Net I found this helpful site:
where I discover that there are three kinds of guitars:
1. Classical
2. Acoustic
3. Electric
It's clear that I'm kind to have to do a lot of learning if I'm going to be able to speak intelligently on this subject.
On the other hand, there are parts and accessories that are readily available in music stores and I don't really have to know much of anything to sell them because they're not rare or unusual.
The bottom line is how much work I'm prepared to do for an eBay niche, as balanced against the possible rewards. That is a totally individual decision.
