Internet Abbreviations Used On eBay: Using Internet Abbreviations To Save SpaceThere are standard Internet abbreviations used on eBay, as well as those abbreviations that are exclusive to eBay. Some of them are familiar when first using the site, while others are not. Why do abbreviations matter? They matter because eBay, and all the other auction sites, are organized as search engines. Therefore, your title is critically important. If you don't use the words your buyers are searching for, they will never find you. Therefore, space is at a premium! If you use abbreviations that are understood on the Internet, or eBay in particular, you can offer more information in less space. Of course, you can also use a subtitle on your auction to entice buyers further. But a subtitle costs 50 cents. That might not seem like much - and depending on what you're selling it might be trivial - but if you're selling in volume, this extra cost adds up. You want every dollar to go into your pocket, rather than eBay's, right?
* OEM means that you're selling everything that came in the box - but you don't have the box itself, the directions or owner's manual. Naturally, you might have one of those pieces, but if you don't have all of them, use the OEM abbreviation. Knowing these Internet & eBay abbreviations is of no use unless you use them. Don't be timid.
